WestMED Project Awards 2021

The first edition of the WestMED Project Awards is now open!

We invite all stakeholders in the Western Mediterranean Blue Economy to apply for the 1st WestMED Project Awards 2021.

This international project competition aims to showcase and honour outstanding success stories, which provide innovative and replicable solutions embodying the WestMED initiative’s vision for the western Mediterranean.

The WestMED Steering Committee, with support from the WestMED Assistance Mechanism, is organising this first edition of the WestMED Project Awards.

The winners will be announced during the next WestMED Stakeholders Conference on 9 November 2021 in Rome, Italy and online. Find out more about the Conference here.

 

Categories

Four categories will be featured in this year’s WestMED Project Awards, based on the western Mediterranean Roadmap priorities:

All category winners will receive:

  • A trophy and certificate
  • The best WestMED Project Category Award Seal
  • Free 30 second animated promo video
  • Travel and accomodation expenses for conference in Rome, Italy
  • Promotional exposure through the WestMED communication channels

Eligibility Criteria

Project applications may be submitted by any public authority, professional, entrepreneur, organisation, centre of excellence/research institution, maritime cluster, association or NGO that:

  • is headquartered, or present in a WestMED Initiative member state: Algeria, France, Italy, Libya, Malta, Mauritania, Morocco, Portugal, Spain or Tunisia.
  • has a funded project or initiative that is in progress or completed. A funded project is a group of tasks, actions, activities carried out by a consortium or a grouping within the framework of a larger and longer collaboration. Any type of funded project (at local, regional, national, or European level from public and/or private sources)
  • has been initiated within 36 months prior to the announcement of this Call.
