France – Vendredi 06/10/2017 – energiesdelamer.eu. By upgrading the quay areas, the port of Brest is preparing itself for marine renewable energy.

“This upgrade will hopefully attract large players from the offshore industry. With our experience and years of involvement in challenging projects, we are ready to provide all operators with the best services within offshore wind”, says Marianne Girardin, Marine and renewables Manager at Blue Water Brest.

The region of Bretagne owns the port of Brest. The upgrade includes a new heavy load quay for large components to the renewable offshore industry. For this project, Blue Water have acted as port agents for several coasters arriving in Brest with so called sheet piles.

In total, the region will be investing around € 220 million in this project, which is scheduled to be completed in 2020. The aim is to attract important players within tidal as well as Offshore Wind Energy.
