France – Switzerland –  Tuesday 01/12/2920 – energiesdelamer.eu. Naval Energies floating solution for offshore wind turbines has been accorded the “Solar Impulse Efficient Solution” Label following an assessment performed by external independent experts and based on verified standards. It is thereby joining the #1000solutions challenge, an initiative set up by the Solar Impulse Foundation to select solutions that meet high standards in profitability and sustainability and present them to decision-makers to fast-track their implementation. The clean, efficient and profitable solutions selected by the “Solar Impulse Efficient Solution” Label contribute to the achievement of some of the Sustainable Development Goals adopted by the United Nations General Assembly with the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

Naval Energies is a  provider of  optimised semi-submersible floating systems and therefore a strategic player for offshore wind turbine projects which all require floating units. Our solution is designed to be competitive and mass-produced which is essential for the development of floating wind turbine technology in the world. It adapts to the specifics of operating sites and local industrial ecosystems. Naval Energies offers versatility and adaptability to meet the specifications of projects and customer requirements.

Our technology convinced a panel of experts who highlighted its robustness and expertise: “The solution is based on a patented disruptive floating technology that allows the adaptation of all types of turbines. The assembly is  stabilised thanks to the anchoring system and can be installed in deep water. It offers a robust, highly technical, well-defined and applicable concept.”

Laurent Schneider-Maunoury, CEO of Naval Energies, commented “The certification of Solar Impulse is further proof of the high level achieved by our technology. It also confirms that our floating solutions combine environmental protection and financial viability: the two pillars for virtuous growth. We are very proud to join the selective group of profitable and sustainable solutions of tomorrow.”

To receive the “Solar Impulse Efficient Solution” Label, Naval Energies was thoroughly assessed by a pool of independent experts according to 5 criteria covering the three main topics of Feasibility, Environmental and Profitability. All labelled solutions are part of the #1000solutions portfolio that will be presented to decision-makers in business and government by Bertrand Piccard, Chairman of the Solar Impulse Foundation. The aim of this initiative is to encourage the adoption of more ambitious environmental targets and fast-track the implementation of these solutions on a large scale.
